Mercer County Early Childhood Information Fair
Mercer County’s Early Childhood Council team has chosen to offer an Early Childhood information fair, April 30, at The Carpenter’s Christian Church, as we have recognized that through COVID many of our families were unaware of services available to them for assistance. Now that we are able to host events, we find it very important that we introduce our families of 0-5 year old children to service providers in our community. According to the July 2019 census, six percent of Mercer County’s population is children under the age of six. Hosting an Early Childhood Fair will enable families of 0-5 year old children an opportunity to meet service providers face to face, learn about pre-school opportunities, information about upcoming pre-school screenings and kindergarten registration, health care providers and many other services.

Dear Community Partners:
Your organization is invited to participate in the Mercer County “First-Five Fair” event to be held at The Carpenter’s Christian Church on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. The side door by the gym will open to families at 10:00 am. Vendors, please arrive to set up between 9:30-9:45 am to organize your table display.
For planning purposes, enclosed is a form to complete, scan and email back to Amy.matthews@mercer.kyschools.us and Haleigh.huffman@mercer.kyschools.us. Please return your completed document by Monday, April 18, 2022.
If possible, please bring a small gift basket containing child safety and/or literacy items(cabinet locks, plug covers, door handle covers, board books, baby books, etc) as a door prize to be given away at the end of the event.
We are very excited to host this event and look forward to your participation. In the past we’ve had one hundred families join us during the fair. One hundred is a good number to plan for any of your table giveaways, referral cards, etc. If you have any questions, please contact the MCIS FRC office and we will be happy to answer your questions or assist you in any way, 859-733-7086 (MCIS FRC Office).
Sincerely,
Georgiana Bray, MCES FRC Coordinator
Amy Matthews, MCIS FRC Coordinator
Haleigh Huffman, MCIS FRC Intern
